Uganda to host Banking Fraud and ICT Security Conference 2014, on April 25th

Wednesday, 2nd April 2014
The 3rd Annual East Africa Banking and ICT Security Summit – themed 'Strengthening Banking and ICT Development in East Africa' – will be held on April 25 in Kampala, Uganda.

The one-day conference organised by Cyber Security Africa will centre on key security issues on core banking systems, software, mobile banking, cards and payments, fraud and risk management solutions.
It will also explore solutions to banking fraud, IT security threats, risk and regulatory issues affecting financial institutions, government agencies and other organisations.

Cyber Security Africa alliance manager Sammy Kioko said: "We are targeting players in the financial services market, information technology security providers and even government agencies."
He said delegates from different fields globally will identify the technical, environmental and business risks that lead to service vulnerability, weaken consumer confidence and ultimately erode brand value, thus causing revenue declines.

"The summit will discuss ideas on articulating and implementing appropriate risk management strategies, how to optimise internal processes and ensure systems and hardware infrastructures are robust enough to mitigate risk," Kioko concluded.
