Kenya Establishes Special Dedicated Unit for Cyber-crime

Wednesday, 19th March 2014
Kenya has established a special dedicated unit that will handle all cyber-crime related cases in the country, in a bid to stamp out the growing problem and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Kenya is losing an estimated Ksh 2 billion annually through cyber-crime.
Banks and telecommunication services such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) have been labelled as the top cybercrime targets, with experts blaming the service providers for using outdated network security software to protect their networks.
